THE CUSTOMER CHALLENGE

No drawings. A clear need.

An offshore nitrogen generator needed replacement sound dampers, with only the old parts available.

Starting requirements

The customer supplied the old parts without drawings. The work called for two different sound-damper styles for a nitrogen generator used on offshore platforms.

Engineering the replacement

TMA developed designs and 3D models from the existing components. This connected the part measurements to the geometry needed for fabrication.

From model to formed component

Press-brake bending shaped the components, followed by fabrication of the two damper designs. Engineering, modeling, forming and fabrication were part of the same project.

The finished result

TMA completed two distinct sound-damper styles for the offshore equipment application. The published account does not specify material grade, acoustic test results or a production schedule.

What the project demonstrates

Engineering from a supplied sample and a connected path through modeling, forming and fabrication.
